Set up a County of Newell payee using eft@newellmail.ca as the e-mail address. When paying your bills, please fill out the comment field with any related information so that we know which account to apply the payment to. This can include:- Tax Roll Number (for tax payments)
- Utility Account Number (for utility payments)
- Invoice Number (for accounts receivable invoices)
- Permit Number (for Development permits)
- Camping Fees (use camp@newellmail.ca as the e-mail address)
You will not be required to provide a password for the e-Transfer - funds will be automatically deposited to the County's account.
NOTE: If your bank requires a password for you to send an e-Transfer, we will not be able to accept it and you will have to choose another payment method. - Online with a credit card using OptionPay.
NOTE: OptionPay collects a Load Fee for processing the credit card transactions. The fee does not go to the County of Newell.
The County of Newell is now accepting payment with select credit cards through the OptionPay System. This can be done online, over the phone, or at the County Office.
OptionPay is a payment card system with a tiered fee schedule with a minimum fee of $2.00 per transaction. All transaction fees will be included in your transaction and you will have the option to approve or discontinue your transaction. The service fee is charged to the cardholder to cover the cost of paying by credit card. The County of Newell receives no income or profit from these service fees. In order to use OptionPay for your credit card transaction, please click the OptionPay logo below. - Via mail by Cheque or Money Order (please don't send cash through the mail).
- In person with a cheque via the drop slot in our receiving entrance door. Receipts are available upon request.
- In person at the counter. We accept cash, cheques, Interac, and credit cards via OptionPay.

Pay My Property Taxes
For tax payments, please include your 10-digit Tax Roll Number.
Paying your Property Taxes Through Your Financial Institution

- Select the Payee "Newell, County of - Taxes" or "Newell County - Taxes".
- Create the account using your Roll Number as your account number (see below):
Your account number will be exactly 10 digits in length
Note - If you currently submit payments to the County of Newell for your property taxes and the account number you are using does not match the format indicated – you must create a new bill payment account. Failure to do so may result in your payment being incorrectly processed or rejected in the future.

Pay My Utility Bill
For utility payments, please include your 10-digit Utility Account Number.
Paying your Utilities Through Your Financial Institution
- Look for us under the Bill Payment Section as "Newell, County of" or "Newell County".
- Select the Payee "Newell, County of - Utilities" or "Newell County - Utilities".
- Create the account using your Utility Account Number without the decimal as your account number (see below):
Your account number will be exactly 10 digits in length – omit the decimal
Note - If you currently submit payments to the County of Newell for your utility invoices and the account number you are using does not match the format indicated – you must create a new bill payment account. Pay My Receivables Invoice
Paying your Receivables Invoice Through Your Financial Institution
- Look for us under the Bill Payment Section as "Newell, County of" or "Newell County".
- Select the Payee "Newell, County of - Receivables" or "Newell County - Receivables".
- Create the account using your Customer ID as your account number (see below):
Your Customer ID (account number) will be exactly 7 characters in length – alphanumeric or numeric (Numbered companies only) and the last 3 characters will be numbers.
Note - If you currently submit payments to the County of Newell for your receivables invoices and the account number you are using does not match the format indicated – you must create a new bill payment account. Failure to do so may result in your payment being incorrectly processed or rejected in the future.

Pay for My Permit
Paying for your Permit Through Your Financial Institution
- Look for us under the Bill Payment Section as "Newell, County of" or "Newell County".
- Select the Payee "Newell, County of - Receivables" or "Newell County - Receivables".
- Create the account using your Permit Number as your account number (this number will be provided to you by the Development Clerk):
Your Permit Number (account number) will be exactly 7 characters in length – all numeric and will begin with the year the permit was issued and will be followed by 3 numbers

Note - If you currently remit payments to the County of Newell for your Receivables Account and the account number you are using does not match the format indicated – you must create a new bill payment account to submit payment for your permit. Failure to do so may result in your payment being incorrectly processed.

Pay for My Camping Fees at Emerson Bridge Park
We provide several options for you to pay your camping fees:
- Online via Interac e-Transfer (send to camp@newellmail.ca)
- Online with a credit card using OptionPay.
NOTE: OptionPay collects a Load Fee for processing the credit card transactions. The fee does not go to the County of Newell. - Via mail by Cheque or Money Order (please don't send cash through the mail). To ensure your payment is applied to the correct account, reference the site number.
Paying for your Camping Fees Via Interac e-Transfer
- Set up Emerson Bridge Park as a payee using camp@newellmail.ca as the e-mail address.
- Include your site number in the comment field with your e-transfer.
- You will not be required to provide a password as the funds will be automatically deposited into the County's account
