This plan is the official policy document pertaining to long-term land use and development goals. The purpose and content of a MDP provides a framework whereby municipalities integrate development proposals into long-term plans that provide for the financial and social well being of the community, as well as the physical landscape. By ensuring that growth occurs in a sustainable, orderly and rational manner, a community can balance the economic, social and environmental needs of residents and provide a sense of stability.
